Analyst, Structured Finance Group – Surveillance recruitment
The Department
The EMEA Structured Finance Group reviews a wide range of complex and innovative products, including mortgage and asset backed securities, collateralised bond obligations, credit derivatives and asset backed commercial paper and repackaged bond transactions.
We require individuals who are able to lead our analysis of specific transactions and to further our rating methodologies in this rapidly growing market. Candidates must have the ability to assess complex and innovative securitisation structures across all major European markets and be comfortable in conducting operational reviews of issuers and interact with market participants at all levels.
The Role
We are looking for experienced Analysts to work within the ABS Surveillance team. Dependent on experience, the successful candidate support or take the lead in managing a portfolio of securitisation transactions backed by various assets from multiple European countries. This role is ideal for candidates who are seeking hands-on deal related experience and the responsibility to form a view on all credit aspects of a structure as well as monitor the performance of a sector. At Analyst level, the successful candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of the rating reviews process, including collateral analysis, cash flow modelling, documentation review and operations reviews with servicers. The analyst will also be expected to assume mentoring of more junior colleagues over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor credit performance of portfolios of ABS
- Analysing all credit aspects of ABS (and RMBS) transactions.
- Follow through rating changes.
- Present transactions effectively and comprehensively to rating committees and other internal analytical meetings.
- Write accurate, insightful and focused credit research of high quality.
- Build and maintain high profile relationships with investors, servicers and other market participants.
- Coach support analysts.
- Participate in external outreach such as seminar, conferences and one-on-one meetings.
Experience
- Proven experience within a financial institution, audit, legal or consulting firm. Demonstrable structured finance experience within a Securitization or a mortgage or other consumer lending institution.
- Solid credit skills and logical analytical though process.
- Strong cash flow and other financial modelling skills.
- Good understanding of financial markets.
- Understands the role of ratings agencies in international and domestic capital and credit markets.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background degree in a Mathematical, Economic or Business subject.
- Relevant professional qualification (eg CFA) would be desirable.

- Strong quantitative attitude and proven analytical capacity.
- Well developed IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
