Analyst, Systems Job in Alexandria 22314, Virginia US
This position is located in our VA, Alexandria facility
Provide hardware/software technical support consisting of installation, setup/configuration, trouble-shooting, diagnostics, maintenance and repair of PCs, printers and peripherals. Provide trouble-shooting and supporting operating systems (i.e. Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/7) and mainstream Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS). Provide analysis and recommendations for information technology requirements in various information technology fields to include, but not limited to, Helpdesk, Server Administration, Network Management, Security and Desktop Support.
1. Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users.
2. Monitors system effectiveness in satisfying user needs.
3. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
4. Manages GDIT staff
5. Participates in special projects as required.
6. Communicate in a positive manner and mentor junior colleagues.
7. Maintain a positive attitude and professional manner when dealing with customers, colleagues, and managers.
8. Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the Government environment, unique needs, and applications.
9. Acquire and maintain a highly competent level of knowledge on relevant products, current policies, and methods of support delivery.
10. Meet individual monthly metrics as assigned by management and overall team metrics for the contract. (Technical)
11. Conduct meetings and make presentations during staff meetings in an area of expertise.
12. Contribute to a highly effective work environment by actively working to resolve team/employee concerns.
13. Prepare statistical data that clearly explains and defines the output of work and provides this information in weekly spreadsheets.
Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
2-5 years of directly related computer systems analysis experience.
Must possess basic skills to support configuration and troubleshooting of MS Windows 7. Candidate must demonstrate the required skills by passing a basic skills test for Windows 7 prior to being considered for employment.
