Analyst/AVP – Credit Officer
Corporate Credit Risk (CCR) is the credit risk management function that supports Global Banking Markets.
Global Banking Markets includes corporate banking, investment banking and sales trading. The group provides services to middle-market and large corporations, government entities and institutional investors. These services include mergers and acquisition advice, equity and debt capital raising, corporate lending, sales and trading in fixed income, commodities, currency and equities, risk management, research, and liquidity and payments management.
CCR is responsible for analysing and underwriting debt financing solutions and derivative strategies for medium and large corporate clients of Global Banking Markets.
CCR partners with teams across Global Banking Markets including Trade Service Partners and Global Treasury Management to drive business growth and results while maintaining appropriate risk discipline specific to the corporate credit portfolio.
Integral to CCR’s mission is its partnership with other branches of Global Banking Markets’ Risk Management organization in order to effectively manage and monitor the credit, market and operational risks related to the corporate portfolio.
Responsibilities
You will be a key member of the team and will be expected to work with more senior and junior team members principally responsible for (i) managing all credit risk aspects of a defined portfolio of counterparties; and (ii) the Credit Risk involvement in the review, approvals and execution for new transactions. These would, inter alia, involve:

Being a point of reference regarding credit-related matters for your portfolio.

Preparation of high quality, timely and insightful annual and interim credit reviews including assessment of performance against forecasts and compliance with terms and conditions.

Preparation of credit papers and ancillary documentation including collaboration with origination/product teams in this effort particularly for new transactions.

Dynamic monitoring and reporting of credit risk profiles and trends including effecting timely risk rating changes.

Prompt escalation regarding developments and recommendations for required action.

Adherence to credit and other relevant internal policies and practices.

Interaction and collaboration with origination/product bankers and clients.

Involvement in the review of due diligence and in due diligence sessions.

Involvement in the assessment and recommendations to Approval Committees and Senior Risk Approvers regarding the creditworthiness of proposed transactions.

Involvement in collaborating with origination/product teams, internal/external counsels and clients on the structuring and documentation for debt financings, derivative transactions and operational/treasury products.

Leadership, tutoring and mentoring of junior team members.

Involvement in the preparation of periodic reviews and recommendations for Leveraged Finance portfolio as a whole.

Participation in strategic projects and initiatives.
Requirements

Ability to comprehend, analyse and articulate the key credit considerations relating to a variety of industries, markets and jurisdictions.

Leadership, tutoring and mentoring skills.
Desirable (advantageous but not essential):
