Index reviews take place on a quarterly basis and can result in significant trading flows. In addition to the regular reviews, significant corporate events can lead to extraordinary adjustments in the indices.
Exane BNP Paribas Quantitative Research predicts, anticipates and estimates the impacts of such liquidity events so that its clients can take advantage of the opportunities these create.
As a Quantitative Analyst, you will work closely with a Senior Quantitative Analyst. You will be responsible for monitoring adjustments to the major European indices, as well as significant corporate events. You will help extend our index coverage and services for external and internal clients.
In this sell-side role, you will apply your strong quantitative skills to detect arbitrage opportunities.
Your specific responsibilities will initially include:
Daily monitoring of index changes and estimating the associated technical impacts.
Enhancing and developing predictive models and tools.
Preparing research reports.

Duties:
Generating recommendations (trading ideas and arbitrage opportunities) and promoting them to the sales and sales-trading desks, to investors and to corporate clients.
Investigating, developing and promoting new event and liquidity driven products and investment themes.

In order to succeed in this role, you must have a passion for the equity universe.
You are a graduate from a Tier 1 Engineering school or Science university and you want to apply your hard skills to detect arbitrage opportunities.
You are fluent in English
You have had successful exposure to the financial markets, preferably in an equity-related front office environment.
You have proven communication skills.
You take a rigorous, inquisitive and open-minded approach to problems.
You are very familiar with Matlab and Excel/VBA.
You are an early bird (6:30 a.m)
