Getco is a medium sized proprietary, electronic trading firm that uses automated algorithms to identify the best opportunities to both buy and sell financial products.  By leveraging the breadth and depth of our technical expertise we are able to stay competitive and constantly evolve with the ever changing financial markets.  We are looking to hire a Clearing Operations Specialist to be part of a global team though running day to day London clearing operations.  If you are looking for a career within finance in a fun, collegiate, and low ego environment, then this could be the right role for you.

Based on the trading floor, the Clearing Operations Specialist will be part of a global team entrusted with the day-to-day operations of clearing support. This role includes trade reconciliation, trader support, report generation, process and control audit and communication with clearing and exchange partners. The individual will be responsible for the interpretation and resolution of enquires and problems related to discrepancies between various systems and areas.

Responsibilities:
• Perform daily trade reconciliations
• Assist traders to identify outstanding orders or positions
• Work with exchange and clearing partners to resolve trade breaks
• Ad-hoc auditing when requested from finance, accounting or other departments
• Identify opportunities for process improvement / efficiencies
• Some travel to Chicago is required during the beginning phase of the job for training purposes

Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong technical aptitude (including knowledge of basic SQL) and desire to improve skill set
• Extremely detail oriented
• Strong communication skills to interact with management, trading, accounting and external partners
• Intelligent, fast learner, able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies
• Good time management and prioritization skills, able to meet deadlines
• Highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit

Education:

• A minimum of a 2:1 degree (or international equivalent)
