APAC Technology & Operations Senior Business Manager – Vice President recruitment
Reporting regionally into the APAC Head of Change Business Management (HCBM) and globally into Tech Ops Business Management the regional TO Business Manager will act as the trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CIO of APAC IB Technology and Head of Wholesale Asia Operations. Candidate will lead the effort to provide transparency and insight into the TO Value for Scale* project portfolio, delivery, expense base, and efficiency agenda. The candidate and team will provide insight into TO unit performance against objectives, proactively highlight issues and risks, recommend solutions and drive remedies to completion.
*Value for Scale is multi-year Initiative that spans all areas of infrastructure across JP Morgan's Wholesale businesses. The Initiative seeks to drive efficiencies and client engagement improvements through operating model changes, location strategy opportunities and x-LOB leverage.
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with Technology Operations to provide transparency, insight and coordination around the Value for Scale project portfolio, expense base and productivity and resource agendas
- Prepare executive level presentations on regional strategy, project delivery, budget analysis, resource optimization, controls, risks, etc.
- Proactively identify opportunities and risks around the Technology and Operations agendas for senior TO mgmt in the region
- With the HCBM, coordinate senior level mgmt meetings, agendas, off-sites and town halls
- Provide management reporting, communications and client reporting with a focus on overall Initiative performance. This is achieved by leveraging the standard suite of reports as produced by the central reporting teams as well as ad hoc analysis. Proactively highlight issues and risks to the targets, recommend solutions and drive remedies to completion.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the TO management team to ensure corporate policies are adhered to and drive knowledge and interpretation of the policies throughout the organization.
- Partner with the functionally aligned Business Managers (Equities, GEM, Treasury Security Services etc) to generate transparency and performance reporting to senior management
- Manage the regional TO planning and forecasting process as it applies to x-business unit impact under Value for Scale. Partner with senior management to communicate year on year spend.
- Provide management reporting to the business clients and partner with them to understand their overall TO project portfolio, cost base and KPIs. Act as a trusted advisor to business; proactively raising risks/issues.
- Partner with management teams to understand and develop resource and location strategies
- Identify initiatives across the organisation to reduce the overall expense base
- Drive and manage the overall governance structure for key initiatives and monitor progress to optimize bottom line performance.
- Partner with Technology Operations Change Management to ensure consistency and transparency of the overall change agenda
- Lead regional Benchmarking studies across Operations to identify opportunities for efficiencies
Skills
- Experience of managing teams and client relationships across locations
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Needs to be comfortable to work in a project environment, i.e. changing priorities, time pressure and multiple dependencies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - both oral and written
- Demonstration of influencing skills in a senior management environment
- Experience with TO organizations business processes and organizational structures, ideally across multiple lines of business
