Position Description

Boeing Apache Training Systems is in need of an experienced Systems Engineer/Apache Pilot for software end product verification and validation (VV), including test planning, development, execution, analysis, and associated documentation, in support of the Apache Training Systems High Fidelity Trainer. The Apache Trainer supports Army Aviators in training and mission rehearsal.

The successful candidate will be required to:

1) Determine the test cases needed to verify the software, hardware and device configuration being developed in support of Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) or Retrofit devices.
2) Provide the Verification and Validation (VV) activity status and burn-down information.
3) Provide Pilot SME assistance to Integrated Product Team (IPT) members to ensure proper device behavior.
4) Create verification plans based on requirement criteria stated in Statements of Work (SOW), including:
a) Determine verification criteria type and test method for the traceability matrix,
b) Populate approved program with the traceability matrix information,
c) Support demos.
5) Generate test documentation including test plans, test cases, test reports, test procedures and the generation of Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM), and coordination of all testing activities with development team.
6) Contribute to continual improvement by way of lessons learned, customer feedback, and corrective and/or preventative action.
7) Support anomaly investigations and present findings.
8) Interact and coordinate closely between IPTs.
9) Participate in gathering and analyzing requirements for test measurement systems.
10) Perform data analysis and develop and utilize data processing tools.
11) Lead a team of test engineers or be part of a team of test engineers on a device.

The preferred candidate would be either Pilot- In Command or Tracked as an Instructor Pilot or Maintenance Test Pilot with a minimum of 300 hours of PIC or tracked position, with deployment history in Iraq or Afghanistan theater of operations. The candidate should have Lot 6.2 experience at a minimum with a preference in Lot 11 or Lot 13 aircraft with Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS).

Typical Education/Experience

Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information

The successful candidate will support in-house builds, field retrofits, foreign military sales and commercial sales for the Apache Longbow Crew Trainer as a Pilot/ Co-Pilot Gunner Subject Matter Expert and test engineer. Travel, sometimes up to 40%, is therefore required in both CONUS and OCONUS.
