Apex SEIT Phase B Principal System Engineer Aurora, CO The Apex program is enhancing and modernizing a command and control system for a satellite ground station in parallel with maintenance support activities. This position is within the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Integrated Product Team (IPT). The SEIT IPT Systems Engineer for the APEX Program supports the segment level design and architecture analysis associated with system and segment level development readiness reviews and related activities required on the program. This effort includes requirements decomposition, architectural design, performance analysis, trade studies, and segment-level operations concept (OPSCON) definition. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to supporting: the definition of the segment-level architecture, operations concept (OPSCON), and requirements for a satellite ground station the development and execution of the readiness plan the identification of risks and opportunities the preparation and conduct of segment level development readiness reviews engineering change requests as necessary system engineering analysis including trade studies, requirements definition/derivation, interface definition, and verification/verification technical exchange meetings with team members and other program personnel the allocation and functional decomposition of requirements at the segment (acquisition specification), system, and subsystem levels as well as the traceability between each of these levels and to architecture artifacts and test the development of engineering CDRLs This position functionally report to the SEIT IPT lead. Required Skills: 8+ years demonstrated engineering leadership experience with proven track record. Experience in architecture development of SW centric system Experience using DoDAF Knowledge of all systems engineering functions including: operations concept development, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control Knowledge of system integration and system test. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team Understanding of software development lifecycle models and program lifecycle modes. Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills. Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools, particularly Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Current SSBI Desired Skills Systems Engineering experience on a large government software development contract. Experience with satellite command and control Experience with ground equipment command and control Experience with Eclipse software Experience in requirements management Experience in CONOPS / OPSCON development Experience in integration, and/or verification and validation Experience in technical risk management Experience in SE process development and deployment Experience in Operations including: procedure development, training, transition planning, installation, and deployment Experience with complex satellite ground systems, particularly previous deployment of developed systems to ground station operations Experience with REAP Qualified Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent. Education: B.S./B.A. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a science. Fourteen years or more equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
