Responsibilities:
The Application Delivery Analyst serves as an interface between the business clients and IT. The incumbent will work alongside Project Managers, developers and other Delivery Analysts to provide IT solutions to meet the customer's business needs. In most cases, the incumbent will report to an IT Project Manager while in some cases may provide direct consultation to customers / stakeholders.
Other responsibilities includes:
- Business Analysis - identifying the business needs of their clients and stakeholders to help determine solutions to business problems
- Business Requirements Definition - requirements development, documentation and management of both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Elicits, analyzes, validates and documents business, organizational and/or operational requirements
- Business Solution Design - working towards a solution as a member of the business solution team
- Solutions are not pre-determined by the Business Analyst but are driven solely by the requirements of the business. Solutions often include a systems development component but may also consist of process improvement / process design or organizational change
- Functional Specification Acceptance Criteria - creation of viable specifications and acceptance criteria for the identified solution
- Acceptance Test Plan Management - developing the solution testing strategy and plan and participating in or managing user acceptance testing
- Acting as a key facilitator within an organization, acting as a bridge between the client, stakeholders and the solution team
- Application of technical experience to analysis and specification of solutions to complex business problems
- Contribution to feasibility studies and analysis of options for IT-enabled change through the application of acquired knowledge to differing environments and business conditions
- Delivery of practical business solutions, process analyses and analytical models according to jointly agreed business objectives and criteria on cost and timing and subject to close managerial control
- Ability to effectively work in small teams and application of good communication and documentation skills with peers and project management
- Working with colleagues and clients/users to investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures, using methodical and consistent techniques
- Working with clients/users to investigate operational requirements and problems, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in information systems, data management or processes/procedures using appropriate techniques, tools and methods
- Working alone or as part of a team, analyzes the underlying issues arising from investigations into requirements and problems and identifies available options for consideration
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any specialization
- Business analysis experience with an emphasis on IT project delivery
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in areas of business process improvement, IT project delivery and application development
- Ability to work effectively and manage relationships with application end users, peers and subordinates, in a virtual, geographically dispersed and cross cultural environment
- Knowledge of the use of OSI PI, Honeywell OMPro, SAP PM and Invensys Intelatrac will be an advantage
- Relevant knowledge of Downstream Manufacturing (Refinery and Chemicals) Business environment and awareness of the associated business processes
- Focused on working towards agreed objectives, while maintaining flexibility to take account of new challenges and changed circumstances, as they occur
- Positive attitude, committed to achieving deadlines and results with a demonstrable track record of delivery against targets
