Application Developer
MAIN DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development, delivery and support of applications software, both in-house developed and 3rd party applications;
- Development of reports to meet the bank's requirements;
- Working with users to define, document and develop changing requirements to the bank's systems processes;
- Assist in the feasibility and introduction of new technology and software;
- System administration, including application problem tracking and resolution;
- Ensure that at all times good practice is achieved in all projects;
- Ensuring the enforcement of IT policies and procedures;
- Change management control;
- Implementing the IT architecture;
- Maintenance of IT policies and procedures;
- Maintain a good relationship with systems and infrastructure 3rd parties as well as with all internal users.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in IT (Computer Science or equivalent). The candidate must have development experience within a structured environment and at least 2 years of industry experience, working in a development and support role.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS:
Required knowledge skills:
- Development experience in any of the following C#, ASP and VB.NET;
- Database and reporting, particularly SQL Server and crystal reports;
- Web services technologies;
- Exposure and experience of any Business Intelligence and reporting tool;
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008.
Beneficial knowledge skills:
- Financial Software Systems;
- Linux;
- Document Management;
- Sybase database.
Personal Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
- Strong independent working attitude and able to problem solve within tight time constraints;
- Able to work to deadlines and manage workflow;
- Strong ability to multitask;
- Attention to detail;
- Willing to learn and be flexible with duties.
