Application Developer – Regulatory Reporting – Sybase, SQL, ETL recruitment
Role Description:
This role for a developer / analyst will be based in London and will involve working on various global regulatory applications using the vendor tool Axiom, these include Internal Liquidity Assessments (ILAS), Bank of England reporting, Capital reporting and new initiatives like COREP and Basel3. The role will lead to the involvement in all aspects of projects from requirements through to implementation.
Candidates should have a proven track record in analysis, design and development in a technically demanding environment and experience of working in the Financial Sector would be beneficial
It is important that the individual can demonstrate an ability to acquire knowledge and technical skills quickly. Candidates should be self-motivated, be able to work as part of a large, global team and be willing to learn new technologies as the Regulatory systems evolve.
Responsibilities to include:
- Working with the Business to develop Requirements and create functional design specifications
- Building and maintaining Axiom projects
- Performing unit and system testing.
- Supporting UAT
- Providing third level support for the application
Skills Required
- Background with relational database technology including Sybase
- Extensive experience with writing SQL and stored procedures
- Experience with ETL programming
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of financial systems (preferably back office) and an understanding of processes related to regulatory/financial reporting
- Self-motivated, task oriented, problem solver
- A reasonable working knowledge of Unix
- Very good analytical skills
Skills Desired
- Axiom development experience.
- FRS Global, SECAM or other regulatory vendor products (Axiom)
- Experience of Autosys or other batch-schedulers
- Knowledge of Perforce or similar source-control system and Jira or similar job-tracking system
- Experience with Shell scripting and languages such as Perl/Python
