State Street Global Markets Technology group is looking for a proven technology leader with a combination of hands-on technical abilities and proven management experience. The position is responsible for managing the applications engineering team that develops, maintains, and supports State Street's foreign exchange trading systems in a global, 24x7 environment. Also critical to the role is the task of establishing and guiding the technology direction of the group's future applications. Other responsibilities include hiring, budgeting, staff management, and interactions with the business units.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of 20+ senior architects/developers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Competency in enterprise architecture of mission-critical systems
• Solid understanding of cloud computing, SOA, and performance engineering on a distributed computing environment
• Hands-on technical skills in common, mainstream technologies, such as J2EE, Unix/Linux, RDBMS, XML, FIX, etc.
• Solid understanding of development methodologies such as Agile and RUP
• Demonstrated success with test automation and test-driven development
• Experience in the Capital Markets IT industry
• Experience with offshore/dual-shore development model
