Position Description:

Job Goals:
The Application Development Engineer will develop custom products, components and solutions, provide design for manufacturability review, technical assistance and project management expertise. This position will work closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Research Development and Customers in the Pharmaceutical and Laboratory markets.
Education, Skills and Requirements:
B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline. Five or more years of technical experience in manufacturing, extrusion and molding. Process engineering experience in thermoplastics however silicone materials preferred. Ability to run several customer and development projects simultaneously. AutoCad or SolidWorks modeling software experience preferred as is a Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. Must have ability to clearly articulate concepts and specifications to customers. Up to 30% Travel required.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
• Project management of customer programs or new products from prototype, pre-production to production stages. Manage all aspects of projects coordinating activites between internal functions (sales, customer services, marketing and manufacturing) and customer’s engineering team. This can occur at the local site or across global facilities.
• Projects may require activities ranging from developing material specifications, product testing, prototype development, part drawings and tooling designs to meet custom or standard product designs.
• Assist customers and provide sales support by providing technical solutions for Healthcare Market products.
• Lead or participate on product development teams for medical, lab or pharmaceutical market programs.
• Respond to customer quotes by reviewing customer specifications, outlining the manufacturing process, developing product/process cost estimates.
• Ensure completion of Internal Qualification Process (IQ/OQ/PQ) on all tools or new processes for manufacturing as required and manage the Capital Appropriation Requisition (CAR) process for development programs under their direction.
