Application Engineer
A global leader of power generation engineering is seeking an applications engineer to work in their Richmond, VA office. The Application Engineer is responsible for the collection, analysis and application of Steam Turbine technical information, as well as troubleshooting and sales maximization for their assigned markets. Relocation is available for this opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Analyze fleet operational and maintenance data to predict service needs and product improvement and upgrades.
- Maintain and manage unit information, part information, 3D models, product structure, configurations, and maintenance history of the GE and Westinghouse global fleet
- Participate in the handover process of new equipment and ensure that the fleet management system reflect the units installed.
Requirements
- Must be knowledgeable and experienced with gas/steam turbine performance, maintenance, design and configurations.
- At least 7 years experience in the power generation industry working as an applications engineer, service engineer or technical field advisor.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is strongly desired but candidates with associate’s degrees and strong experience with steam turbines and the aforementioned experience will be considered as well.
- At least 3 years experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems as well as 3 years Project Management is highly preferred.
- Experience with GE and Westinghouse Turbines is strongly desired. Candidates must have the availability to travel 20% of the year.
