Application Engineer II (Gas)

Job Summary:
This position is concerned with review of customer specifications with the appropriate selection, pricing and application of Cameron Compression Systems products. The incumbent is responsible for the commercial, as well as technical content of proposals. In this regard, the incumbent must interface directly with a variety of customers; Cameron Compression Systems Engineering, Manufacturing and Finance Department, and Field Sales, Service, and distributor personnel.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Provide timely, accurate, and complete replies to inquiries from Field Sales and Product Managers.
2. While performing strictly within the price and standard margin policies, use creative but sound judgment in relation to machine selection, estimates, competitive position, manufacturing capacity, and customer requirements.
3. Provide knowledgeable and helpful technical support to the efforts of Account Managers in proposals to customers.
4. Understand contract requirements and convert them into company language in the order write-up.
5. Convert the contractual requirements into Engineering hours estimated to complete the contract.
6. Complete the QCA sheets with an estimate of the cost of the contract to determine overall estimated profit margins.
7. Attend customer project meetings, when appropriate.
8. Maintain personal acceptability and respect from Account Manager(s), customers and distributors.
9. Provide helpful assistance to the overall Marketing and training program
