Job Summary:

The Application Engineer’s function is to support LME sales and marketing relative to trucks globally and excavators domestically. The Application Engineer is LME’s in-house expert in mining techniques and the application of our products in the mining industry.

Essential Job Duties:

·         Provide technical assistance to LME Sales department and Customers relative to utilizing/applying our products.

·         Visit Customer sites (mines) to gather information and make presentations relative to this technical assistance.

·         Perform truck haulage simulations using Runge TALPAC software.

·         Estimate excavator/truck production rates, haulage cost/ton.

·         Calculate dump body requirements.

·         Create and maintain excavator / truck loading charts.

·         Maintain and manage historical fuel consumption data.

·         Assist with technical sales training of LME employees.

·         Support LME Sales department with Customer presentations, technical training, and technical portions of proposals (trucks excavators).

·         Support Marketing Communications with development of Marketing products, such as advertising, presentations, and promotional materials. 

·         Produce documentation supporting Application Engineering activities such as “Job Reports”.

·         Support Product Management with technical assistance as requested.

·         Participate at mining industry trade shows and meetings.

·         Produce and present technical “white papers” relative to the successful application of LME products.

Education and Experience:

B.S. degree in Mining Engineering is preferred or B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering combined with 2+ years experience as an Application Engineer with a heavy equipment OEM (supplier to mining industry preferred).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

 

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Additional Requirements:

·            Ability to travel 30% of the time both domestically and internationally with some trips lasting up to 4 weeks in duration.

·            Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and passport.
