We are working with a Market Leading Global Trading Organisation that is renowned for utilsing bleeding edge technology, creating innovative solutions and attracting / rewarding the best technologists the markets have to offer. They have been consistently growing their Sydney operations organically with exceptional retention staff rates over the last few years and now, again, due to more growth they are looking for another talented Integration Engineer to join their Sydney team.
The Integration Team is essentially the glue that brings and holds this complex and dynamic environment together. The trading systems are in-house developed and modified by very gifted developers who write very lean, efficient, low-latency code, these modules or enhancements are then tested and handed over to the team to integrate into the live environment using an array of technologies (UNIX, Linux, Shell, SQL, Perl, Python etc…). While there is a large projects focus the team takes a very proactive view to maintaining these systems with a strong emphasis on constant improvement and automation along with support.
In a nutshell the role itself is to deploy applications and tune the production software environment in order to achieve the best possible performance. You’ll draw on your advanced knowledge of UNIX / Linux systems and scripting skills (SQL, Perl and Python) to integrate low-latency solutions into this complex, dynamic environment and in doing so liaise frequently with Traders, Developers, Infrastructure Engineers and externally: Venders, Brokers and Securities Exchanges.
Requirements of the role
- Advanced UNIX / Linux command line skills.
- Advanced Shell and SQL scripting skills (Perl / Python highly desirable).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior organization / prioritization skills, drive and motivation.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science or another related degree.
- Knowledge of financial products, particularly derivatives in equity markets (Desirable).
- Knowledge of businesses processes and the workflows and of securities trading (Desirable).
