Application Specialist
Our client one of the worlds leading Asset Management companies is looking for an Assistant Manager to support the Fund Accountant in designing and building automation into the processes for producing UK fund report accounts.
This role is within the Investment Servicing and Fund Accounting team who are responsible for administering the funds, corporate actions and fund valuations alongside fund accounting and reconciliation of all pooled funds in the UK.
In this role the successful candidate will work with a team of UK Fund Accountants to design and build automation into the processes. This must be done within an over-riding objective of ensuring as much commonality of process as possible between report account production in the UK and Luxembourg fund accounting teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Analysis and documentation of the business processes to produce annual and semi-annual fund report and accounts to enable process improvement and re-engineering
- Identify and deliver successful automation to increase productivity and efficiency of the process by developing database and spreadsheet solutions
- Design and develop the solutions in a consistent manner with the framework for tactical solution development as managed by the UK Process Improvement team
- Produce user documentation and support documentation for the delivered solution
- Train users to use delivered solution(s)
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering automated solutions to support complex business processes and knowledge of accounting and/or investment management.
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Development experience using Excel, Access, SQL and VB.net
- Process mapping and process re-engineering
- Business requirements analysis
- Technology development using configuration management
- Assessing the relative benefits of competing ideas
- Listening, questioning and challenging skills
- Ability to write clear and concise documentation
- The ability to identify and automate inefficient processes
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think through complex issues and sees things to resolution
- Accounting knowledge and Investment Management knowledge.
- Invest One knowledge would be a distinct advantage
