My client is one of the fastest growing most highly recognised software vendors in the Financial Services Trading Systems Industry. Their advanced progressive software has won numerous industry awards and accolades following their global success.
They have an urgent requirement for an Application Support / Support Analyst candidate to join their fast-moving London office in a hybrid role that will include team leadership and hands-on, client facing application support work - directly facing off to leading top-tier firms in the buy-side (Asset Managers, Investment Managers etc)
The trading systems are built using a range of technologies including FIX protocol, SQL and XML so the role will offer both technical business exposure.
This varied exciting application support (trading systems, asset management) / support analyst role will include:
- Working in a hands on manner with buy-side (asset management, investment management hedge fund) clients to provide 1st line support on trading systems issues
- Dealing with technologies including FIX, XML SQL to query databases, analyse rectify system connectivity and assist traders in their use of the systems
- Providing 1st and 2nd line application support to end-users of the trading systems and escalating issues to development where necessary
- Provide training, mentoring support to the rest of the application support team - acting as a deputy for the team manager
- Advising clients on their use of the trading systems including information on new releases / updates / system modifications
- Working with multi-asset class environments: Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives
Excellent communication skills the ability to communicate across both IT and business teams is essential as is high levels of motivation the drive and motivation to work on issues through to completion.
You will be highly driven and motivated towards a career in the financial services IT industry. In addition to that, you will have demonstrable experience in:
- Providing 1st and 2nd line support to users of 3rd party trading systems
- Working with both business IT teams
- Working of trading systems support issues from call-logging through to issue completion
- Buy-Side trading firms (either directly or from a software vendor perspective)
Knowledge of FIX protocol would be highly beneficial although is not essential.
Candidates' knowledge of various asset-classes including Equities, Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income etc will also be taken into account.
