Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for Application Support Analyst to join our high profile client.

Our client is world leading provider of digital dictation software it supports businesses all over the globe with their requirements for digital dictation, digital transcription, voice recognition, and workflow management. They are known as the world’s largest digital provider. Technically they are as bleeding edge as possible due to the constantly adapting nature of their software.

I am seeking a Technical Application Support Engineer to be responsible for all customer support services. The Application Support Engineer will provide technical support, trouble shoot and repair customer/reseller issues for the several product lines.

Day to day you will be responsible for 3 main areas, support, testing of new and existing platforms, and configuration / presales of platforms for clients. You can also expect to:

  • Research on in-house test platforms.
  • Research via Internet resources.
  • Research via technical documentation from various sources.
  • Remotely controlling systems across the globe via the internet.
  • Some testing and accurate documentation of results on software and hardware products.
  • Some testing of configuration scenarios reported to be exhibiting problems by customers.
  • Configuration of in-house live, demonstration and test platforms.
  • On occasion some training of sales partner and end user IT support persons
  • Preparation of servers before delivery to customer.

The successful candidate needs to be an excellent communicator, a team player with a hands-on approach, who is able to take ownership of problems, and work to tight timescales. It would suit a junior support engineer who wishes to develop and broaden their skills beyond support towards infrastructure and professional services. 

Candidates must have:

  • 2 years commercial application or Infrastructure support experience
  • Excellent customer support skills 1 to 2+ years of high-level technical support in Windows environment
  • 2+ year’s technical experience with computer software, including the installation and configuration of Windows programs
  • Windows Security
  •  Active Directory
  •  Thin client technologies (Citrix and terminal services)
  • IIS
  • SQL
  • Scripting exposure
  • Extensive experience in examining, investigating and solving dynamic problems with ability to think "out-of-the-box” and develop creative solutions.
  • Ideally ITIL

This is a role for a junior support engineer who wants to fit into a fun yet technically strong team. You will be given training and the ability to grow rapidly with a firm that has a small but strong technical team. They offer quick progression with a flat non-hierarchical structure. You should have a couple of years’ experience supporting applications and be motivated by a future in infrastructure design or professional services.
