Application Support Analyst
Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for an Application Support Analyst to join our high profile client.
Our client is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner that is the leading provider of spread betting, FOREX and CFD platforms to the City. Due to this continued expansion you will be provided with the opportunity to work on advanced, technically challenging product development on a range of Microsoft development platforms.
As an application Support Analyst you will provide professional, alert and responsive first and second line support to all clients using the bespoke financial trading platform software. As an Application Support Engineer you will be an integral part of the Support team, providing a service-orientated approach to handling client requests and queries. You will be responsible for investigating all technical queries and ensuring swift and correct resolution of all requests and problems.
• Deploy new files/fixes to client systems designed by development team
• Manage and maintain MS SQL Server 2005 and 2008.
• Manage and maintain MS IIS v6.0 and v7.0.
• Resolve issues directly or by escalation to development staff. At all times remain the “owner” of customer technical issues, seeking to resolve these to the satisfaction of the client.
This role suits a junior candidate who is looking to get into financial services and trading support. The role offers excellent trader focused support as well as responsibility. Typically people in this role move into trade support in the city or running one of my clients support teams. Technically my client is at the top of their game, their systems are mission critical and their clients mostly banks.
Candidate must have:
- 1 or 2 years commercial support experience
- Previous experience of software or application support not general infrastructure
- Good understanding of MS IIS v6.0 and v7.0.
- Good understanding of MS SQL 2005/2008 inc. backup and restore, log shipping and mirroring experience.
- Moderate understanding of MS SQL Server Query Analyzer.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Good understanding of MS Windows Server 2003 and 2008.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills are required,
