Application Support Analyst

 

 

My client is a prestigious, NYC based, global publishing and media company looking to add an Application Support Analyst to their IT team. The Application Support Analyst ensures that applications are kept in good operating order through the execution of application management and support.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Install, test, and upgrade applications used within the company

·         Maintain and manage applications to ensure quality and continuity from the operational perspective

·         Proactive monitoring of applications to optimize this continuity

·         Assist and cooperate with business owner of applications to ensure proper release and patch management

·         Ensures integrity, completeness and authorized use of applications

·         Ensures an adequate level of communication with functional management and system development to guarantee proper tuning of the related activities

·         Develop, maintain and enforce application related documentation

·         Participate in the assessment of user problems and desired application adjustments

 

 

Requirements:

 

·         Knowledge of shell scripting, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss and Java basics

·         At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar type of position

·         Affinity with software development

·         Relevant technical education at BS or MS level 

·         Preferable knowledge of EMC Documentum applications

·         Experience regarding performance tuning troubleshooting

·         Configuration of exports to and imports from internal and external applications

·         Create and manage monitoring for internal applications

·         Oracle expertise a plus
