Position Description:

SunGard a Fortune 500 Company and Global Leader in Financial Systems Software are currently recruiting talented graduates to join their Post Trade Derivatives business Graduate Training Programme. The successful Graduates will join the GMI division within the Capital Markets Segment, starting with a 3 month training programme in Chicago before returning to the UK (Canary Wharf), to start the role.

Key Responsibilities:

After an initial 3 month training period at our office in Chicago, you will join the application support team in Canary Wharf, responsibilities will include:

• Provide timely, independent support to users of the Stream GMI application, including limited consulting, implementations, and development.
• Act in the role of Traffic Controller for the Global Help Desk. This includes providing initial investigations into issues and updating with relevant related issues, setups, questions, etc. and passing the issues along to other Application Support Analysts.
• Serve periodic rotations on the Global Help Desk, answering client calls, responding to client e-mails, and logging new client issues.
• Provide support to peripheral applications of the IBM iSeries that impact the performance and use of the Stream GMI application, including OS/400, iSeries communications, MQM, and other common IBM iSeries issues.
• Communicate with the client base by means of e-mail, phone, and Client Service Bulletins.
• Write Management Overviews for issues that require programming changes.
• Write Functional Specifications for issues which are deemed as enhancements to the Stream GMI application, so the clients can read and approve programming changes.
• Choose one (or more) of the Stream GMI System Areas and Subsystems upon which to focus their attention, developing extra expertise in this area or subsystem.

• Undergraduate degree
• Strong interest in IT and Finance
• PC literacy
• Technical ability, although previous programming experience is not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn complex concepts quickly
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to interact well with internal associates and external clients
• Strong work ethic, dependability, dedication, self-motivation, and enthusiasm
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of the exchange traded derivatives industry and/or the Stream GMI application is helpful, but not required

Working Pattern:

• Work "early shift" from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM
• Work "evening shift" from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM
