Application Support recruitment
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating involvement from all parties involved in the delivery of application services to the client
- Accountable for identifying and mitigating risks to the service delivery and proactively address and resolve issues before they impact service levels
- Follow all established processes and procedures for both development and maintenance work
- Escalate issues and seeking of advice from Level 3/development team on complex issues or problems in a timely manner
- Facilitation of timely and effective remediation for all Fxall issues
- Manage and lead assigned projects that will improve operational efficiency
- Release management of new versions of trading platforms
Education/Experience
- Degree requirements – BS – course of study (e.g. Computer science, engineering)
- 2-5 year of experience
- Starting to master relevant skill set with high level of ability in some technical areas
- Ability to take on small projects autonomously, operating with moderate technical and management guidance
- Considered to be a key member of team making significant contributions to projects

- Lead periodic problem analysis meetings with all parties involved in the delivery of application services to the client
- Accountable for identifying and mitigating risks to the service delivery and proactively address and resolve issues before they impact service levels
- Strong knowledge of java and java libraries, Swing, messaging and design patterns.
Required Skills:
• Experience supporting JAVA applications
- Working knowledge in the following areas:
oUNIX or Linux operating systems
oWeb servers (Apache)
oJMS (e.g. ActiveMQ)
oContainer management (e.g. Tomcat)
oDistributed Caching software (e.g. Gigaspaces,Gemfire)
• Knowledge of java and java libraries, Swing, messaging and design patterns.
• General unix/linux support (not to SA standard).
• Scripting skills (PERL, Pyton, etc)
- HTML, DHTML, CSS, Javascript – general web development technologies.
- Knowledge of the FIX protocol
- Familiarity implementing and maintain industry standard application monitoring tools such as Control-M, Nagios, Groundworks and BigBrother
- 1st level Unix Admin skills (Solaris and/or Linux)
- Visio and general documentation skills
- Script writing for log analysis
Experience with the following a plus:
- Exposure to Sonic JMS Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
- Financial sector and E-commerce experience, especially if gained from another trading platform.
