The Application Systems Analyst (ASA) serves as a member of a team performing a variety of professional and technical support activities for City applications and systems.
The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate:
- Excellent communication skills and experience working effectively in a team environment
- Solid experience in analyzing, designing, and building applications using Object Oriented concepts in a .NET environment using C#
- Strong knowledge of database design concepts and the ability to write SQL in a Microsoft SQL Server environment, and the ability to implement, modify, and support vendor supplied software solutions
- The ability to implement, modify, and support vendor supplied software solutions
Regardless of computer platform, the ASA performs maintenance and enhancement of existing software applications; analysis, design, and implementation of new software applications; feasibility and cost benefit analysis; integration of data from various platforms; performance of tests and troubleshooting; production of system specifications, procedures, and documentation.
The City of Eugene has an extensive portfolio of automated business applications. Most applications are developed primarily using Microsoft's SQL Server as the database. Web and Windows applications are developed using .NET/C#, JavaScript, and Microsoft ASP. The City offers a competitive compensation package and values diversity and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications:
· Application Systems Analyst 1: At least 6 months of progressively responsible experience in computer analysis and programming. 1 year preferred.
· Application Systems Analyst 2: Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in computer analysis and programming.
· Application Systems Analyst 3: Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in computer analysis, design and programming; business process engineering.
· Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or a closely related field.
