Applications Administrator Sr.
The IT Applications Administrator Sr. is responsible for
- Installing, configuring, upgrading, monitoring, and supporting packaged enterprise applications.
- Leading the Application Administration team in anticipating, mitigating, identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving software and hardware problems reported by customers.
- Building and maintaining productive professional relationships with IT co-workers, management, customers, and vendor partners.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and subject matter expertise to the Application Administration team around systems analysis design, configuration management, system upgrades implementation, and systems monitoring.
- Provides IT support to customers; troubleshoots and resolves reported incidents.
- Implements and maintains complex application configurations and settings
- Develops technical solutions through application configurations and development scripting languages such as HTML, SQL, Java, or application specific languages.
- Identifies, recommends, schedules, and implements software improvements in compliance with IT Change Management policies.
- Responsible for the execution of production deployments, including data loads or updates.
- Responsible for pro-actively managing the technical stability of supported applications.
- Manages application licenses, vendor support relationships, and vendor contract compliance.
- Escalates and monitors open application issues with vendor support as appropriate.
- Creates and maintains application security profiles
- Oversees the administration of end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Participates in and/or leads projects; provides leadership and technical guidance to fellow project team members.
- Ensures that appropriate technical application maintenance and support documentation exists and remains current for on-going administration and support.
- Provides application support training as needed.
- Monitors service levels for all systems ensuring that system uptime are consistent with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Proactively develops and manages positive customer, peer, and management professional relationships
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
- At least 6 years of experience in Information Technology, in application development, customer support, and/or infrastructure
- Experience with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
Other Required Qualifications
- Relevant experience in an application support role
- Experience or knowledge of ITIL processes (v3) (Specifically around Service Operation, Service Transition and some Service Design)
- Knowledge of configuration components, including IIS, firewalls, load balancers (F5), web application servers and database servers
- Working knowledge of J2EE Application Servers (Tomcat, Weblogic, etc..) (Ability to install java containers, modify xml/config files, navigate linux/unix file system.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and UNIX (Linux and AIX) server operating systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience configuring and supporting HP Service Manager and/or any related HP modules such as HP Project and Portfolio Manager (PPM), UCMDB, HP Asset Management, HP Knowledge Management, or HP Problem Management or similar IT Service Management solution set.
- Experience with SQL and other development scripting languages such as HTML, .NET, or Java
- Experience with MS Access, MS Visio, and MS Project
- Experience with Oracle DBMS
