Location – Montgomery County, MD
Length -- 6 Months+

Job Description:

Required Skills:    

This is an opportunity to join a team of 12 application development and infrastructure architects in a project transferring client java applications to a .NET framework.

The architects will work hand in hand with development groups. Candidates must be proficient in MS technologies, understanding of code concepts, and have experience doing code reviews. Architects are in a role of governance, teaching and mentoring, primarily push out designs. Current technology includes .NET 4, MVC, and REST services.

Requirements:

• An in-depth understanding of OO and SOA principals and design patterns with extensive architecture and design experience in a large scale web environment (REQUIRED)

• SQL server experience

• Must have a proven track record of creating and driving successful solutions to complex technical issues.

• Familiarity with REST service design and iterative software development methodologies REQUIRED.

• Experience in the designer or architect role using the Microsoft .NET platform, familiarity with Windows Communication Foundation, C#, Team Foundation Server, and/or Visual Studio 2010 is a plus.

• The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in recommending architectural solutions as well as obtaining buy-in and instituting processes resulting in successful architectural implementations and audits.

• A BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is strongly preferred.
