The Application Coordinator supports the code LAB application software Lab, Micro, Blood Bank and Pathology, interfaces and other ancillary systems. Responsible for the overall design, implementation, training, documentation, operation, and support of assigned applications, databases, interfaces and reports. Works with staff to research, evaluate, and recommend new procedures, upgrades and technologies; resolve software issues, and support the Technical Specialists as necessary.
The coordinator will be responsible for: implementation, support, system upgrades, communications, resource coordination and reliable documentation all in compliance with HIPAA and other federal directives. Documenting, tracking and resolution, of all reported problems, enhancements, custom programming requests and change control. Provide regular and timely communications to the L.I.S. Manager on the status of assigned tasks ensuring all issues are addressed and resolved prior to deadlines. Attend and actively participate in the appropriate I.S. Team and implementation meetings offering creative ideas and methods to ensure successful outcomes. Interact professionally with client/user community and be committed, helpful, responsive and effective in support efforts.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent technical training in Medical Technology. Lab technician experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of experience supporting laboratory information systems. Full knowledge of laboratory applications, systems and integration with various lab software. MEDITECH software experience is required. Report writing skills with Meditech NPR, SQL and other industry standard tools. Reports directly to the LIS Manager.
HOURS: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:00pm. Ocassional evening weekend for upgrades
