We have an outstanding opportunity available for a qualified professional to act as a technical expert, team leader, or project manager to independently apply the principles, concepts, and methods of application programming and analysis within an Oracle Financials environment.
In this high-level position, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, evaluation, testing and implementation of complex applications including configuration management, testing approaches, design and documentation standards; conduct, facilitate, and document meetings to identify business processes and information needs; perform the duties of an applications development project manager for major applications with multiple complex subsystems; prepare detailed project plans; assign activities to team members from multiple disciplines; monitor and report status to management and customers; act as project manager for multi-year projects; manage multiple project leads for smaller projects; develop and code specialized and complex programs/systems; solve complex application software system performance problems; analyze application performance data, project computer workloads, hardware, and software; develop application architecture for various computer systems; establish quality assurance procedures; update the department’s long-range information system plans; direct staff in all phases of application programming, implementation, and system maintenance; review and evaluate personnel performance; act as a consultant on application development and software maintenance; and develop comprehensive business requirements and project documents such as RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and contracts.
This challenging position requires any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance as determined by the City. Example combination includes, but is not limited to, graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and two years experience at the level of Applications Development Analyst III or four years experience in programming or application development. A valid current industry recognized certification in Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle relevant experience AND a valid California Class “C” driver’s license may be required at the time of appointment.
Selected candidate will also have knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL language; RDBMS and ORDBMS concepts; Oracle reports, forms and Discoverer; operating systems; advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of applications programming and design; and expert level of understanding of how to perform requirements analysis. The physical ability to lift computer equipment up to 20 pounds, physically perform sedentary to light work involving moving from one area to another, sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform repetitive movements such as typing and extensive exposure to video display terminals/computers also required.
We offer a starting salary of $7,707 to $9,365 per month plus superb benefits including City-contributed retirement plan, cafeteria-style health benefits, and tuition reimbursement.
