Position Description:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Field. Practical experience in Manufacturing a must. The Applications Engineer will take customer products and components and provide designs for manufacturing review, technical assistance and project management. This position will work closely with sales, manufacturing, and customers regarding products and applications. Responsible for material specifications, product testing, prototype development, tooling review, recommendations and product quotes.
Education Skills requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in application engineering, in manufacturing preferred
• Excellent presentation, technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience in FMEA and root cause analysis.
• Initiative to operate independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrated project management ability a must.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for customer visits and technical presentations.
• Autocad or Solidworks equivalent preferred
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the position of Manufacturing Engineer must have a strong technical base and a very good understanding of process controls and technical tools used to troubleshoot and solve problems. This individual must have strong interpersonal skills in working with shift or technical operations teams. Safety, organizational skills, technical competency and communication will be stressed. Daily aspects of this position will include:
•Review Customer application specifications and select product material
• Design specifications for application fit, form and function requirements.
• Manage prototype part fabrication per customer requests of known applications.
• Assist Product Managers in development and testing of new products. Prototyping and test development required
• Participate in self development and training of others.
• Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.
• Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.
