Applications Engineer Job in Tulsa 74117, Oklahoma US
Summary: Responsible for reviewing customer specifications and requirements to perform Applications Engineering design; and ensure technical requirements of projects adequately meet customer expectations.
Essential Functions:
- Review customer specifications and drawings and collaborate with other departments to provide cost of equipment and any exceptions to customer specification and drawings.
- Create sales proposal drawings to be issued with the quotes.
- Perform calculations for structural design.
- Calculate pressure drop for system.
- Collaborate with Acoustical Engineering to address acoustical requirements and designs.
- Review code requirements for loading on duct work to ensure compliance.
- Able to adapt to changing customer profiles and ability to work under pressure in a real-time environment.
- Interact with individuals effectively at all organizational levels to resolve internal and external customer, shop and field issues.
Job Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e.Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Projects).
- Working knowledge of Visual Basic, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD and STAAD.
- General understanding of power plant operations, including the interrelationship of engineering with operation and maintenance functions.
- Ability to interpret drawing, engineering and specification drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering standards.
- Knowledge of welding and related engineering standard.
- Basic finite analysis software knowledge.

Eduction: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Equivalent experience considered at the discretion of management.
Experience: Three to Five years experience in Applications Engineering design in steel fabrication.
