Applications Manager recruitment

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Recruit, develop and manage members of the applications team so that the team is effective and individual members are developed and encouraged to add value to the team.

• Manage the work of the applications team making plans ahead in detail to ensure that work is efficiently, accurately and effectively managed and implemented within budget and to meeting datelines and the organizations’ requirements and goals.

• Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or enhancing these systems where applicable.

• Ensure that any applications developed meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.

• Oversee the direction, development, implementation and support of software solutions.

• Implement systems and software development and quality assurance best practises and methodologies.

• Oversee and plan the resources required, working with both internal teams and/or offshore outsourced teams.

• Work closely with the Head of Applications and the Applications Assessment Manager to provide the strategic direction for the applications team and contribute to the wider IT departmental strategy and plans.
