Applications Specialist Job in Mississauga, Ontario Canada
Eagle is currently seeking one (1) Applications Specialist. This contract opportunity is projected to be six (6) months in length with the possibility of extension if applicable.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Implementation Services is situated on the critical path of application and Infrastructure implementations. The Business Application Services teams are responsible for
Testing, deploying and updating support documentation of the business applications; - Non-functional testing and deployment of application change into the production environment; and,
- Working closely with Technology Solutions, Operations Support, External vendors, Business users and Engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of products/changes into the production environment.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have:
- Strong documentation skills pertaining to the support of testing and implementation;
- Possess excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Sound time management skills;
- A willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to successful completion;
- Knowledge of SDLC process;
- Knowledge of Infrastructure deployments;
- Strong knowledge of application deployment;
- 3+ years of experience with Windows.net applications (‘03, ‘05, ‘08)-ability to navigate through the system;
- 3+ years of experience of UNIX/ AIX platform;
- 3+ years of experience with JAVA;
- 5+ years of experience in Change and Problem Management methodologies;
- 1+ years of experience with Middleware components such as WebSphere 5, 6, 7 or Oracle;
- 2+ years of experience having exposure to UAT/PAT and Production environments;
- Experience with Incident tracking tool / Ticketing Tools;
- Proficiency with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
- 1+ years of experience using MKS;
- 1+ years of experience with UNIX based scripting (Shell / Perl); and,
- Financial/Banking Industry experience.
