Position Summary: The Application Support Specialist will be considered a subject matter expert on our internal application portfolio from both the end user and infrastructure support perspectives. They will be considered Tier 2 support. Intimate knowledge of our various Point of Sales and Back Office applications in terms of their use, features/capabilities, as well as their integration with other applications and to our infrastructure architecture is essential for success in this role. Position Responsibilities: Act as the liaison between infrastructure and development from an application knowledge and support perspective Tier 2 support including application issue and problem capture, triage, escalation, and resolution Maintain current systems operation and architectural documentation Production system testing and troubleshooting to resolve application issues quickly Knowledge transfer and training of existing support team Make recommendations on process and procedure improvement Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred. Ideal candidate would have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics 10+ years of hands on technical experience with hardware and software support, 5+ years of business critical application support experience Highly proficient in supporting Microsoft Office products and SQL Server Intimate knowledge of our various Point of Sales and Back Office applications Possesses understanding in the areas of agile requirements management, application programming, database and system design Demonstrated experiences in delivering high quality, customer focused support in a fast growing business environment Demonstrated aptitude for rapid problem solving. Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills with strong organizational time management skills Detail oriented, self directed, with strong problem solving skills Ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements to enable IT technical teams Highly personable and able to communicate clearly and build strong relationships across groups and with IT personnel
