POSITION PURPOSE
Provides applications technical support for the installation and maintenance of enterprise, regional or local client server software application packages that support the business needs of Trinity Health. Develops in-house scripts and monitors error situations/conditions to improve application processing and user client performance. Troubleshoots and provides problem resolution to unexpected and complex errors/issues related to applications. Work activities require strong competency in with client server technology and considerable analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to diagnose and address problems with system hardware, software and connectivity; lead small projects and support specialized applications. Works with enterprise, regional or local level applications that may be deployed across multiple ministry organizations and geographic locations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or certification in computer information technology or a minimum of three-five (3-5) years of related experience in a client server environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate technical knowledge of and experience with computer languages designed to manage relational database management systems and server operating systems.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with relational database and Windows scripting languages.
- Some knowledge and experience with programming concepts, scripting and coding preferred.
- Some knowledge and experience with reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Windows networks and networking concepts.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and other LAN/WAN technology.
- Some knowledge of Active Directory preferred.
- Some knowledge and experience with laser printers.
- Ability to lead small to moderately complex projects.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently on a day-to-day basis.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to interface with multiple technical and business teams.
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Some project management skills preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Strong verifiable experience with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager in an enterprise environment. In-depth knowledge of operating systems including UNIX, AIX, and Linux, and Windows, knowledge of scripting languages, system access methods, on-line processing monitors, local and wide-area networks, storage area networks, and related hardware, software, and concepts.
- Ability to formulate and define specifications for complex multi-site and multi-vendor backup/recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Ability to monitor the components of TSM, including databases, logs, tape libraries, messages, and backups and to effectively manage storage pools.
- Ability to create and implement retention policies, management classes, and copy groups.
- Ability to manage TSM server environments and to monitor and manage enterprise data management processes.
- Ability to monitor TSM application server processes and errors to ensure overall system performance and stability.
- Ability to conduct backup server maintenance tasks successfully on a daily basis.
- Ability to provide support for backup server tape drives and library problems, including halting and/or restarting the backup server software application.
- Ability to add and register new client servers to the TSM server.
- Ability to generate weekly report of TSM backup activities to ILM and Production Services Managers.
- Ability to monitor on-off site tape rotations and inventory, and to monitor procedures for compliance with Business Continuity program.
- Knowledge of information lifecycle management technologies, methodologies, and concepts including data classification and storage tiers.
- Ability to work effectively in virtual teams and work with and lead teams.
