Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking an Application/ Software Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Arlington, VA.
Put your years of experience into a future of excellence... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Civil Systems Division and will be supporting Northrop Grumman's Civil Systems Division.
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
o Program using C#, C++, C, Java, PERL, and/or Python (demonstrated three or more years hands on experience and skills)
o Provide programming support in Windows and Linux/Unix OS variants
o Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
o Draft and document the key system interfaces with customer unique systems to provide automated interfaces with external organizations as necessary
o Develop, test and refine cyber security signatures to security and unique customer appliances using customer defined process and procedures.
o Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
o Prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
o Ensures all software standards are met.
o Develop and implement relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Informix)
o Develop and/or implementing non relational databases (e.g., Casandra, Hadoop, Couch, NoSQL, Project Voldemort, Mongo, Drizzle)
o Employ Agile approach to software development such as Scrum, eXtreme Programming, Crystal, Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM)
o Employ strong analytical skills required to understand specific customer domains and drive technical solutions
o Program, troubleshoot, and debugging in PacketC and/or RAVE
o Support, troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues indentified in operational systems at the application level
o Perform troubleshooting and debugging of operational systems such as but not limited to: WhizFaery, SourceFire, Cloudshield, Netezza Analytics, and Novii Systems
o Produce work products that includes projects/pilots/prototypes code, presentations/briefing, software/change documentation, meeting notes, graphics, and animation
o Provide application and software architecture support, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and legacy systems)
o Provide applicable programming language support such as the following:
JAVA
C++ or C
COBRA; J2EE
Perl
JavaScript
UNIX scripting languages
XML
HTML
Workflow tools such as JBoss or Weblogic
DOM
AJAX
Apache
Spring
Near real time processing
Collection systems
Network protocols and standards
GUI development
Mission management systems
o Web services implementation
o Programming using Top Down, Event Driven, and object oriented paradigms
o Host the analytics development activity for Operations, which provides software development for focused, situational analyst applications

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Five years in a technical role, working on Web Support projects and programs for Government or Industry customers
Industry accepted certifications to support the individual's subject matter expertise are a plus
Education: BS degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, software engineering or a related field.
Security: Required - TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain DHS Suitability
This position is contingent upon contract award.
