Our mission is to understand, recombine, and digest big data converting it into semantic structured information and to leverage this knowledge across all Microsoft assets. The ideal candidate would have strong technical skills with good understanding of data and familiarity with business applications. The candidate should enjoy working in a small startup environment, agile prototyping, and facing new ideas. We are looking for a technical background in multiple of the following areas: data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, mathematics, applied statistics, and knowledge representation. Job Responsibilities # Analyze opportunities related to large semantic informational platform # Generate actionable insights and help in validating and exploring data # Apply data mining and statistics to build successful solutions for multiple applications # Suggest, specify, and design original components and help with their prototyping # Provide technical leadership to other Microsoft teams Qualifications # Ph.D. in data mining, statistics, machine learning, mathematics, AI, or related field # Proven ability to formalize real-life problems and to focus on business objectives # Excellent understanding of predictive analytics process from data validation to model assessment, stability, and deployment monitoring # Outstanding programming skills including high-performance computing # Good contingency planning skills, ability to anticipate and to overcome difficulties # Strong communication skills, ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, strong leadership qualities.
