Job specific duties
Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of communication strategies and activities for the an indistry Complaints Scheme (the `Scheme').
Under limited supervision, write and edit a range of communication materials including online content, print publications, project plans and administrative correspondence.
Transform complex policies and legislation into language that meets target audiences' needs.
Provide professional advice and services associated with communication strategies, activities and issues.
Contribute to the preparation of correspondence, reports, Ministerial briefs and responses to Parliamentary questions, and contribute to reporting, budget and resource management processes.
Assist with formulating, implementing, monitoring and reviewing plans, reports and projects.
Management of APS4/5.
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the section and the Scheme.
Job specific capabilities
Demonstrated experience in marketing, communication and/or public relations.
Strong written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in writing and editing communication materials for a range of audiences.
Strong oral communication, representation and liaising skills, with an ability to work with people at various levels from all areas on communication activities, issues and procedures.
Ability to provide high quality communication advice and services to a range of stakeholders.
Capacity to show judgment and exercise common sense.
Ability to work under limited supervision to achieve agreed outcomes and meet agreed timeframes.
Strong planning, organisational and problem solving skills.
A communication, journalism or public relations degree or equivalent experience is essential.
Experience in service delivery support or change management would be well regarded.
Previous stakeholder engagement experience will also be highly valued.
Priorities and key deliverables for the position:
Develop fact sheets and create fact sheet templates for industry
Develop and maintain an industry online toolkit
Create and disseminate industry-focused case studies
Analytics reporting - look at complaints and compulsory reporting data, and analyse it to understand trends, risk factors and opportunities to further educate consumers and industry
Publish key Scheme documents
Project manage Scheme-themed segment development
Write and edit online/print industry communications materials including the writing of external blog posts
