Our client requires the specfic servcies of candidates to perform the role of Document Access Examiners.

In this position you will be responsible for:
Providing sound and concise advice and recommendations under the Archives Act 1983 on the public access status of records,
Entering accurate, clear and concise advice relating to the determination of the access status into an electronic database.
Compliance with the Archives Act 1983, Freedom of Information Act 1982, other relevant legislation and relevant departmental manuals and instructions.

Qualifications/Experience
A sound understanding of the history of international policy-making and Australian foreign and trade policy and related fields is required.
Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of policy advice and analysis to government, preferably in foreign affairs, trade, defence and related fields.
High level analytical skills and an ability to interpret examination guidelines; apply precedents and conduct research.

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following:

Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold a current Australian Government security clearance level of Top Secret NV.

A. Demonstrated ability to interpret policy advice to government
B. A sound understanding of the history of international policy-making
C. Ability to interpret examination guidelines, apply precedents, conduct research, exercise sound judgement and provide clear recommendations to the National Archives of Australia on the public access status of records under Section 33 (1) of the Archives Act 1983.
D. Well developed oral and written communication skills, including attention to detail and the ability to accurately enter advice into an electronic database, and the capacity to contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures and guidelines.
E. Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, the ability to work productively as a member of a team and meet corporate objectives with a minimum of supervision.

Desirable
F. Tertiary qualifications in history, international relations, law and related fields.
G. Demonstrated experience as an access examiner or the capacity to quickly acquire these skills.
