Architecture Lead – Risk Technology recruitment

The primary focus of the team is The Risk program which is a multi-year Risk initiative aimed at building a new technology foundation for and improving the business processes of  Risk Services. This Program is a multi-stream project which focuses on:  Data Origination and Cleansing, Source System Enhancement and Clean-up, and Risk Analytic consolidation, aggregation, and reporting.
 

Responsibilities
* Mentor and manage a sub team of software and solution architects and deployment staff
* Work with your peers in the Development team to manage the software lifecycle from planning, through resource management, and eventual testing and delivery to production with respect to environment availability
* Ensure that governance and audit related architecture documents are created and maintained
* Responsible for organizing, facilitating and performing software Proof of Concepts
* Responsible for reviewing and when necessary designing deployment architecture for application components with Project Team Leads
* Responsible for ensuring that software components are factored into discrete modules that can be developed and deployed independently from each other
* Partner with Development Team Leads for defining which industry standard best practices the Development teams follow
* Responsible for ensuring that application designs follow the SOLID principles
* Ensure transparency throughout the software delivery lifecycle to support any future or ongoing audits of the delivery process

Experience
* 7+ years of software development, design or architectural experience in a financial service or capital markets organization
* Knowledge of Software Architecture and Design principles is a must
* Significant experience with Java, Spring, Websphere/Weblogic are a must
* BI Reporting Tools or Reporting interfaces such as Cognos is highly desirable
* IBM DB2 or Oracle Database
* Experience with Continuous Integration and Build Automation is essential (Maven, Jenkins, Nexus)
* Previous experience with Market Data Origination and Cleansing. Knowledge of Asset Control platform highly desirable
* Experience with Tibco BusinessWorks and EMS is highly desirable
* Team management, coaching, peer reviews
* Superior influencing skills and written/verbal communication skills are essential. Able to communicate effectively and concisely with IT stakeholders
* Self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively and independently within a fast-paced environment
* Good understanding of PL and PL Attribution processes, particularly from a trading risk perspective
* Strong knowledge of Securities and Market Risk with an emphasis on Risk metrics
* Able to analyze complex issues from multiple perspectives and provide strategic recommendations
* Able to think critically, beyond the status quo, and provide innovative/creative solutions to existing problems
