Reporting into the senior manager of the product area you will be required to use an array of accounting skills due to varied responsibilities including pnl analysis, balance sheet analysis, testing, accounting policy and ad hoc project work. In addition you will liaise with a variety of departments in the bank including treasury, risk and front office allowing a full understanding of how a complex organisation is structured and operates.
It is essential that you are a qualified accountant and have exposure to financial products either through auditing them or as an accountant in a financial institution. You will be a person that can demonstrate initiative in their CV through clear examples of accountability and problem solving such as secondments, project ownership or process streamlining. Strong communication skills are essential as, whilst the team culture is collaborative, your commercial opinions will be challenged.
