Are you looking to get experience in Food Sensory Science? Job in South East

Sensory Support Technician (Immediate Start)

Contract (2-3 months) – potential to become permanent

20 – 22 000 PA (~£10.50 per hour)

(South East)

The Company:

My client is one of the largest flavour houses in the world, with a strong history of flavour development in the snack food categories. They have a strong technical team, composed of NPD Technologists, Flavourists, Nutritionists and Sensory Scientists all striving to ensure their clients get flavours that enhance and add value to their product range. Due to long-term illness, this company is actively seeking a Sensory Support Technician to assist with managing the taste panels and collecting sensory data – a superb opportunity for a newly qualified Food Scientist/Technologist to get industrial experience.

The Role:

The focus of this role is to support the sensory team by managing the day to day sensory panel activities. This role focuses on using sensory panels to generate data used in the product development and quality control process. Day to day duties would include setting up and overseeing sensory taste trials, collecting data and compiling reports to be analysed by the senior member of the team. If you are a food technologist with an interest in sensory research, this may be an ideal opportunity to get some insight into the industry and to put valuable work experience on your CV.

This role is to cover for long term illness for the current Sensory Panel Leader. The role is a contract vacancy scheduled to last for 2-3 months in the first instance, but this could develop into a permanent placement for an exceptional and diligent candidate.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a Food Technology graduate, or a graduate within a technical area that has had some exposure to the food development/technical industry.

This is a contract role, so ideally you will be living locally (Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire) and be able to start on short notice.
