An Area Manager / Area Supervisor / Production Manager is required for a world class manufacturing company based in the heart of the Black Country, commutable from areas including Birmingham, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Walsall, Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire

The company are a leading manufacturer of rubber tyres supplying successfully to the motorsport industry.

The purpose of the role is to plan, develop, organise, direct and co-ordinate the Business Team's activities to maximise production within a safe, efficient and effective working environment. Operational planning, problem solving and daily shift management of the production facility within the manufacturing plant.

Annual salary for this position including shift allowance is £33K, with a pension scheme on offer and other benefits

Core responsibilities and duties include -

- Assign and direct all work to ensure that individual assignments are performed to plant and team perfection standards
- Place and train employees and maintain their motivation in order to gain maximum efficiency with respect to customer satisfying production
- Achieve production, performance, quality and waste standards on each shift, whilst evaluating employee performance as related to team goals and standards
- Ensure that all work is in compliance with safety regulations and company policy. Apply, enforce, monitor and maintain all safety requirements, rules, procedures and policies on site and ensure all associates conform
- Maintain all records, reports and documents required to support the Businesses performance, including absence management
- Ensure items issued for compliance to Health and Safety requirements are used/maintained.
- Log/Action items for attention.
- Maintain allocated areas of responsibility to a high standard
- Fully utilise all support functions on back-shift assigning workload and setting priorities to ensure smooth and efficient flow of production requirements.
- Minimise the adverse production impact of scheduled and non scheduled interruptions to the operation.
- Liaise with other departments / key functions to develop and maintain a pro-active culture to address problems / issues as they arise.
- Accurate and timely reporting of daily / weekly / monthly KPI's / data
- Actively contribute to Continual Improvement

Suitable applicants MUST be qualified to either ONC or HNC Production manufacturing or engineering, and have a strong knowledge of Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodology. Must also be able to demonstrate excellent man management, organisation, communication and PC literacy skills.

The position will require you to also sit a psychometric assessment test during the interview stages.

Position is a permanent role, working rotating shifts of mornings / afternoons / nights, average of 40hrs per week
