Objectives:
- To assist relationship managers in serving their clients and growing their client portfolios;
- To understand clients’ financial goals, affairs and risk tolerances and devise appropriate financial advice across the areas of investments, lending, structuring, strategic planning and superannuation in order to support the relationship manager as a trusted financial adviser;
- To ensure efficient and prompt administration of all aspects of client service delivery, including security trades, foreign currency conversions, loan drawdowns and rollovers, payments, invoicing and remittances;
- To manage the account opening process for new clients and documentation associated with establishing credit facilities and credit lines;
- To make available such data and reports, from the Branch Applications, as may be required by the relationship managers and clients;
- To ensure that all communications to the Branch from clients are attended to in a prompt, professional and efficient manner;
- To keep abreast with and develop a deep understanding of Credit Suisse’s client offering and product knowledge;
- To ensure that all compliance and legal guidelines are adhered to and minimize the occurrence of operational errors;To operate all necessary Branch Applications proficiently to ensure the delivery of an exceptional client service experience.
1. Client Advising Servicing
- In conjunction with the relationship managers, monitoring client portfolios, performing portfolio/product advisory activities and developing appropriate strategies in the areas of investments, lending, retirement planning and wealth management for clients and prospects. With respect to this, a background as a professional accountant or lawyer will be considered favourably;
- Keeping abreast of financial markets and developing a thorough understanding of financial products so as to be able to communicate proficiently with clients on these matters;
- Acting as the primary point of contact for a selection clients, including attending regular meetings, managing daily administration, client servicing and attending to compliance requirements;
- Monitoring risk exposures associated with the relationship managers’ client portfolios, including monitoring the cash position of all client accounts and ensuring adequate liquidity is available to meet pending liabilities;
- Preparing credit proposals for clients and completing all associated documentation;
- Responding to enquiries from accountants and other professional advisers in relation to client affairs and providing information and guidance, as appropriate. This includes providing annual tax reporting to clients supported by a comprehensive understanding of the taxation implications of investment portfolios and the tax effect of common investment transactions;
- Despatching research material to clients as appropriate and in accordance with compliance and legal guidelines.
2. Administrative Responsibilities
- Managing the opening of new client accounts, by preparing all documents, filling in application forms and liaising with the Operations Team, LCD and relationship managers/Client end;
- Following up and monitor the on-boarding of client assets;
- Ensuring that all relevant documentation is received from the clients and sending the same to Operations Team;
- Maintaining communication with clients by drafting letters, emails and other communications;
- Communicating Corporate Actions (dividend, stock split, open-offer, etc.) to clients, advising them of their alternatives and accurately recording and processing client instructions.
3. System Support Assistance
- Becoming familiar and proficient with all necessary Branch Applications and training others in their use;
- Working with the IT team for streamlining and enhancing systems functioning;
- Initiating IT change processes to correct system malfunctions and minimise system inefficiencies.
4. Compliance
- Ensuring strict compliance with all internal policies and external regulations;
- Ensuring the occurrence of errors and operational problems is minimised and promptly and properly documenting any issues that occur, including reporting the instance of losses;
- Following up with relationship managers and clients on all compliance and documentation related issues.
5. Reporting MIS
- Supplying clients with customized accounts statements and valuation reports, on an ad-hoc or regular basis, which are not readily available in the system;
- Supplying the Market Leader, relationship managers and other internal stakeholders with necessary data and information from Branch Applications as per their requirements
- Ensuring the accuracy of data captured in Branch Applications, including correct transaction recording for tax reporting purposes.
Communication/Working Relationship
- Frequent client interactions;
- Continuous liaising with Business Management, the teams of other relationship managers, Investment Services Products, Operations, Treasury, IT Team, etc., for functional efficiency;
- Open communication through team meetings
You Offer...
- 3 – 5 years’ experience within private banking and HNW clients or in a professional accounting or legal environment.
- Strong academic background and (desirable) a professional qualification in law, accounting or CFA
- An extensive knowledge of all financial markets and a keen interest in investments
- Outstanding client-oriented mentality and pro-active team player
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Diligent, careful and able to work in a fast moving environment
- Good command of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of IRESS and T24 will be seen as an advantage
