Asia Pacific Head of Operational Risk – Retail Banking and Wealth Management – Global Banking Giant recruitment

The Head of Operational Risk will have responsibility for the oversight and control of business compliance and operational risk management and will manage control structures to ensure effective operational control structures are in place in compliance with group standards and local regulations. The incumbent will be required to monitor regulatory changes and requirements within the region for impact analysis and develop measures to mitigate risks to achieve business targets. The incumbent will also have responsibility for establishing and implementing policies and procedures in countries across Asia Pacific to ensure adherence to both internal and external directives and will represent retail banking and wealth management in compliance, credit and operational risk related forums.

The ideal candidate will be a degree holder with at least 10 years experience gained at a leading global bank in an operational risk, internal control, internal audit or compliance role. Applicants will be required to display a firm understanding of retail banking and wealth management and have solid knowledge and experience of banking operations, processes and controls. Candidates will need to have exceptional interpersonal skills, as they will need to deal with regulators and other stakeholders at all levels across the region, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
