ASP.NET MVC Developer

C# Developer - ASP.Net – MVC – SQL

We are looking for a senior AVP level developer strong design skills in a wide range of Microsoft Development Technologies, you will have experience in financial institution or software company where a knowledge of basic financial products exists; Understanding of capital markets and treasury instruments; Knowledge of the software system life cycle including Agile development using a variety of techniques but specifically TDD and CI, this should have been gained through work on large scale web development projects; Comprehensive architectural design experience, including ability to understand the impact of design decisions against scalability, performance, maintainability, availability, supportability and security considerations;

Excellent knowledge of:
o Microsoft Windows Development Tools
o TFS for ALM
o Microsoft MVC .NET framework
o C#.Net
o ASP.Net

The job holder will have the following key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Development and maintenance of code using the legacy or strategic toolset for FX/MM Development.
• Liaising with project managers and business users to understand and formulate business requirements where required.
• Designing solutions and applications in line with all relevant technical standards and with an emphasis on long-term supportability.
• Unit and system testing of applications after changes have been made and before these applications are moved to UAT.
• Support of existing application portfolio being managed by the FX/MM Development Team. This is likely to include participation an overnight support rota.
• Adherence to CTMM Systems and ISD standards and practises:
o Ensuring all developments adhere to coding standards, development methodology standards, documentation standards, and any other standards as they may be set going forward.
o Ensuring all developments are using the current source control repository.
o Ensuring all technical designs and new technologies are reviewed and approved by the ISD Engineering Board.
• Taking a proactive role in how to improve development practises in the team and across the department.
• Work with other IT (infrastructure and development) teams.
• Provide technical direction and guidance for more junior colleagues.

The FX/MM Development Team has responsibility for current and legacy applications which have been written using a variety of tools on both the Windows and Unix operating systems. The development languages include Microsoft C#/.Net and Java, with databases in Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase.
