Aspiring Adviser Program – Commonwealth Financial Planning

Aspiring Adviser Program

CFP's Aspiring Adviser program is astructured, 12 month professional development program designed to give you the knowledge and skills required to move into an advice position upon successful completion.

The objective of the program is to provide you with a thorough understanding of all aspects of Commonwealth Financial Planning, and for you to progress in to a Financial Planner role at the end of the program.

You will report to a Financial Planning Manager and will be mentored by them and their team. You will also participate on various rotations across the business.

Here are some of the things you will learn:

• How different teams in CFP and CBA work together to provide quality advice to customers

• How Financial Planners provide appropriate advice on investment, superannuation and insurance strategies to grow and protect the wealth of customers

• How Paraplanners create and review financial strategies that meet the needs and objectives of a diverse range of customers

Many people will support you to be successful, including a buddy, mentors, peer support groups, placement Managers and regional Executives.

Skills Experience Required for Entry to Program:

The program starts in Feb 2014. You must be able to commit to this start date

• At time of application, you must hold at least one RG146 competency through degree, or be studying towards a Diploma in Financial Services in Financial Planning 1-4

• Hold a university degree or be in your final year of a university degree

• Be a Citizen/PR of Australia or New Zealand

• Prior experience in a customer facing role is desirable

• Passionate about financial planning

• Desire to work in a corporate, client driven environment

• Strong interpersonal skills with determination and enthusiasm to succeed
