Position Description
Electricians in this position install electrical systems, equipment and assemblies in the Join and Installation, System and Installations, Wing Stub Join, Wing Body Join, Final Body Join, Final Assembly and various other major sub assembly shops. Employment in this position also requires a vision and color perception test, occasional (1-3 hours) lifting less than 10 pounds, reaching, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking, bending at the waist, climbing/balancing, finger manipulation, flexion/extension and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes and ears. Additional Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities: Locate work area using drawings which specifies airplane number, section number, and three-point location. Obtain and verify kitted (pre-picked) detail parts, standards, and assemblies were issued correctly. Ensure that parts issued are effective for the airplane and are free of visible defects. If parts are not pre-picked, get parts and ensure that parts selected are effective for the airplane and are free of visible defects. Operate mechanical lifts of various types as required. Set up assembly tools per tooling instructions or drawing. Cut wire(s) to specified length per drawing using wire cutters. Group and identify wire runs per drawing. Route, clamp and tie wires and/or wire bundles, hand form as necessary per drawing. Cut and install plastic sleeves over wire(s) and/or wire bundles, as required. Attach appropriate fittings to wire ends, (e.g., lug or spade connectors) crimp and terminate using hand or machine crimping tool(s). Hook-up and/or connect wiring to accessories (e.g., relays, circuit breakers, switches) per drawing using hand tools and/or soldering gun. Perform continuity tests of electrical assemblies using ohmmeter, test lights and other electrical testing equipment. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner. Determine and obtain correct type and size fasteners per drawing and/or rivet or grip gauge to install parts/assemblies (e.g., standoffs, wire bundles, clamps). Install fasteners in correct sequence per drawing, using correct tools (e.g., rivet gun and bucking bar, drill motor, power screwdriver, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner). Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure it is complete per drawing.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration
Do you have experience reading and interpreting assembly instructions or drawings?
Do you have experience using computer programs such as internet navigation, email, and/or other specialized computer applications?
Do you have formal training/certification or a minimum of 2 years experience in assembly, wiring, and/or maintenance, repair and overhaul or an AP license?
Typical Education/Experience
High school graduate or GED preferred.
