POSITION:

Assembly Supervisor          

 

DEPARTMENT:

Assembly              

 

REPORTING TO:

Plant Manager


SUMMARY:

This is an opportunity for an energetic leader to lead the Assembly group within a world class organization committed to being the best at aerospace Assembly manufacturing.  This position will be responsible for the overall planning, organizing and coordination of assembly activities, as well as driving Continuous Improvement activities.
 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·         Overall responsibility for shift/departmental operations to meet delivery, cost and quality goals;

·         Provide leadership and technical direction to allow team to improve according to key departmental metrics;

·         Maintain shift rotation schedule in accordance with the needs of the business;

·         Create a positive working environment which is committed to excellence, by demonstrating personal commitment to these ideals;

·         Provide leadership in establishing standard processes and tools;

·         Manage personnel performance, including:

o    employee reviews

o    disciplinary action

o    time and attendance

o    overtime assignments

o    employee training

·         Ensure the use of lean manufacturing tools in the development of new assembly processes;

·         Understanding assembly chemical practices;

·         Lead Continuous Improvements endeavors throughout the department;

·         Regularly communicate departmental updates to Managers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Excellent working knowledge of MS Office products.  Visual, Filehold, and Visio knowledge an asset;

·         Must have an understanding of blue print reading;

·         Understanding of Assembly tools...ie..air tools;

·         Good understanding of assembly line tact time;

·         Excellent attention to detail.

·         Completion of high school or high school equivalency; supervisory training an asset.

·         Minimum five years experience, with proven experience in leadership.

·         Aerospace assembly experience, an asset.

·         Effective communication skills and strong problem solving skills.

·         Flexible and energetic, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
