POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the supervision of employees and the planning and scheduling of jobs through the assembly area, ensuring that consumable supplies are available, resolving routine production, quality, equipment and maintenance problems and training new employees. The position is responsible in meeting their area’s productivity goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Include but are not limited to the following.)
- Responsible for understanding and ensuring the training, performance, quality, run rates and safety of all assembly employees
- Scheduling and pulling production jobs through the assembly area in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure the proper processing of all quality and job control paperwork.
- Anticipate when the next job will be available; evaluate workloads and the most effective order to run the existing jobs to insure shipping on time.
- Ensure good communication with all of Operations daily on all jobs, this includes job status if jobs will be on time or if they are falling behind.
- Work with production control to plan actions necessary to recover any lost production time or shipping timing
- Anticipate material needs to meet delivery dates and insure production of parts and communicate these needs to Production Control.
- Verify set-ups and to solve routine production and set-up problems.
- Develop and implement, where effective, new ideas and methods for improving production productivity and scrap reduction.
- Must follow and enforce company safety standards and identify any areas where potential hazards may exist.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have 7-10 years experience in a production environment.
- Proficient in Assembly and Soldering of guidewires used in coronary and neurological procedures
- Provide customer support on guidewire design and manufacturing
- Technical knowledge with guidewire manufacturing and end use.
- Familiar with best practices in guidewire assembly
- Provide recommendations on assembling the product
- Build prototypes
- Assemble initial builds for new products, establish processing and documentation and train operators
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Proficient in metric and standard measurement
- Knowledgeable in clean room protocol
- Write manufacturing and/or quality documents
- Perform process and equipment validations
- ISO 13485 and FDA requirements as it pertains to manufacturing. Working knowledge and understanding of related governmental regulations as they apply.
- Communicate effectively with sales and operations to provide efficiency information to accurately quote jobs and for process improvement purposes.
- Fully understand process flow to have the ability to assess process time
- Must have three years of supervisory experience in a production environment
- Ability to perform maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Good organizational skills and follow through.
- Requires a high degree of written and verbal skills to positively and effectively communicate with all departments and the management team.
- Ability to read and write legibly.
- Ability to use a PC and programs including MS Office.
